Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Outward Sign in just a few minutes.
Step 1: Create Your Account
1. Visit outwardsign.church
2. Click Sign Up in the top right
3. Enter your email address and create a password
4. Check your email for a verification link
Step 2: Set Up Your Parish
After logging in for the first time, you'll be guided through the onboarding process:
1. Parish Information - Enter your parish name, address, and contact details
2. Parish Settings - Configure default language, timezone, and preferences
3. Invite Staff - Add other staff members to collaborate
Step 3: Add Locations
Before creating events, add your parish locations:
1. Navigate to Locations in the sidebar
2. Click Create Location
3. Add your church, chapel, parish hall, etc.
Step 4: Add People
Build your parish directory:
1. Navigate to People in the sidebar
2. Click Create Person
3. Add parishioners, staff members, and ministers
Step 5: Plan Your First Sacramental Celebration
Now you're ready to plan a sacramental celebration:
1. Navigate to the appropriate module in the sidebar (Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms, etc.)
2. Click Create to start a new record
3. Fill in the participant information (bride/groom, deceased, parents, etc.)
4. Link the celebration to an event (or create a new calendar event)
5. Choose readings and customize petitions
6. Assign ministers and liturgical roles
7. Save and print your liturgical script
Note: Events (found in the Calendar) are standalone calendar entries for scheduling. Liturgical planning, minister assignments, and script generation happen in the specific sacrament modules.
