Parish Setup

Learn how to configure your parish settings in Outward Sign.

Accessing Parish Settings

1. Click your profile icon in the top right corner

2. Select Parish Settings from the dropdown menu

Note: Only users with the Admin role can access parish settings.

Parish Information

Basic Information

Configure your parish's core details:

  • Parish Name - Your parish's official name
  • Address - Street address, city, state/province, postal code, country
  • Contact Information - Phone number and email address
  • Website - Your parish website URL (optional)

Default Settings

  • Default Language - Choose English or Spanish for default display
  • Timezone - Set your parish's timezone for correct event scheduling

Team Management

Manage your parish team members and roles. See the Inviting Team Members guide for detailed instructions.

Viewing Team Members

In the Team Management section, you'll see:

  • All current parish members
  • Their roles (Admin, Staff, Ministry-Leader, Parishioner)
  • Module access (for Ministry-Leaders)
  • When they joined the parish

Inviting New Members

1. Enter their email address

2. Select their role

3. If Ministry-Leader, select which modules they can access

4. Click Send Invitation

Managing Pending Invitations

View all pending invitations and:

  • Resend - Send a new invitation email
  • Revoke - Cancel the invitation

Templates

Admin-only feature

Create and manage custom templates for:

  • Petitions (Prayer of the Faithful)
  • Liturgical scripts
  • Ceremony outlines

Templates help standardize your parish's liturgical celebrations while allowing for customization when needed.

Best Practices

Keep Information Current

  • Update contact information promptly
  • Review team member access quarterly
  • Archive inactive team members

Security

  • Only grant Admin access to trusted staff
  • Use Ministry-Leader role for specialized coordinators
  • Regularly review pending invitations

Communication

  • Ensure all team members know their roles
  • Provide training for new staff
  • Keep a backup list of all team member emails
